  • Obituary: Celia Lindgren

  • Celia Jane Lindgren, 93, formerly of Orion, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.



    Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.  Burial was at Lutheran Cemetery, Orion.



    Memorials may be made to St. Paul.

  • Celia Jane Lindgren, 93, formerly of Orion, died Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
    Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.  Burial was at Lutheran Cemetery, Orion.

    Celia was born March 29, 1918, in Moline, the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Sandahl) Anderson. She married Dale E. “Andy” Lindgren on June 9, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1981.
    Celia and Andy were co-owners of Meadow Lanes Bowling Alley in Orion, where she loved bowling and enjoyed cooking and being a waitress for more than 30 years. She was also a farm wife and homemaker.
    Celia was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active in WELCA and a member of the Carnation Circle and the Friendly Stitchers, a Sunday school teacher, and a former Cub Scout Den Leader. She also was a member of several card clubs.
    Celia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend.  She loved her God, family, friends, and church.
    She is survived by her son, James (Diane) Lindgren of Atlanta, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Mary Lindgren of Lynn Center; grandchildren, Kristin (Russ) Fieger of Kansas City, Aaron (Michelle) Lindgren of Nashville, Tenn., Nathan (Jessika) Lindgren of     Bettendorf, Jessica Lindgren of Chicago, and Andrew Lindgren of Champaign; and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Rod.
