    Orion Middle School held its eighth grade promotion on Wednesday, May 23, at Orion High School.

    Orion Middle School held its eighth grade promotion on Wednesday, May 23, at Orion High School.
    Kim White played the piano as the students processed into the gymnasium.
    OMS?Principal Tiffany Springer gave the opening.
    Jessica Collis, president of Student Council, delivered the welcome and Morgan Jungwirth the class farewell.
    Orion Middle School’s honor choir sang “The Climb.”
    Springer presented citizenship awards to Brandon Keleher and Ashton Lee.
    She also recognized the top 10 percent of the class, including Katelyn Wampler, Ashlie McCunn, Ashton Lee, Taylor McCunn, Michelle Zelnio, Anne Hansen, Brandon Keleher and Macy Hancock.
    School board members Dwayne Anderson, Larry Atkinson, Peter Nedved and Doug Nelson presented promotion certificates to the students.
    Springer gave the closing, and White played the recessional.
    Marshals were Keifer McCaw and Jack McLoone, and ushers were Brant Holst and Paige Stropes.
    Class of 2012 members included Martha Aguilera, Madeline Anderson, Skylar Atwell, Jacob Bergstrand, Emma Bingham, Dwayne Blaser, Noah Bridgewater, Austin Carlile, Dylan Casillas, Trent Catlett, Noah Clarke, Joseph Cohrs, Jessica Collis, Sean Cox and Emily Crayne.
    Also in the class were Brandon Deden, Christofer Dhabalt, Jacob Drish, Mallorie Eckhardt, Joshua Ellison, Lindsey Gilbert, Amy Green, Joseph Guinn, Macy Hancock, Anne Hansen, Cynthia Harned and Kristen Holbrook.
    Those moving on to high school included Loren Jackson, Drew Johnson, Kiah Johnson, Kylee Johnson, Morgan Jungwirth, Owen Kay, Brandon Keleher, Adam Kern, Ryan Landuit, Hunter Larson, Nathaniel Lawson, Ashton Lee, Kaitlyn Link and Sam Long.
    New freshmen included Merrick Magee, Ashlie McCunn, Taylor McCunn, Jacob Miller, Abigail Moffitt, Brady Morgan, McKenzie Mortier, Aubrey Murphy, Thomas Newman, Hannah Noble, Anna Nordstrom, Cole Orsborn and Aimee Osborne.
    Others leaving the stage as high school students were Cheyanne Palmer, Jayde Peterson, India Price, Nolan Richardson, Claire Rittenhouse, Riley Robinson, Victoria Roth, Rebecca Rupe, Tara Scott, Jordan Sears, Noah Sierer and Nicholas Sinde.
    Also promoted were Jericho Smith, Mackenzie Smith, Levi Stropes, Samuel   Struck, Bennett Vanderheiden, Talia Villafuerte, Katelyn Wampler, Jacob Washburn, Elisabeth Weiss, Courtney Wiedenmann, Gage Williams and Michelle Zelnio.
