    Important information
Book covers—Students should have a cover on each textbook. The school sells Charger book covers, or students may use paper grocery bags (other materials do not work). They may not use adhesive paper, or tape the cover to the book.
Student absences—Parents are requested to call the OMS office at (309) 526-3392 before 9 a.m. to report the absence. Parents do not have to wait until the office opens. They may leave a message on the answering machine. Reporting the absence eliminates the need for the office to call the parents, and for the student to bring a note from home.
Parent bulletins—Starting sometime in September, these will be on the Orion Middle School section of http://orionschools.us. Each grade level has its own bulletin.
Grades—Parents can use the ID?and PIN number they received at registration to check students’ grades onlines. Mid-term grades are mailed to students who are struggling in classes. Grade reports go home with students at the end of each nine weeks.
    Page 2 of 2 - Athletics
Participation—Students going out for any sport at OMS need to fill out and turn in waivers and the top page of the athletic rules with all required signatures. The school also requires a sports physical using the Illinois High School Association form.
Passes—All-Sport passes cover 38 home games, except for tournament contests. Season passes cover home football, volleyball, basketball and wrestling events. OMS has a family rate for conference games and all home games, except for tournament contests.
