ORION—Since Orion Fall Festival began keeping records in July 1980, the organization has given away more than half a million dollars.

ORION—A dog bit two village employees on Sunday, Aug. 3, on Eighth Street in Wilson’s Addition, Orion village board members learned on Monday, Aug. 4.

ORION—Check the schedule for the Summer Olympics before calling Beulah Sloan of Andover or Betty Lawson  of Orion during the next two weeks. They’ll be concentrating on the efforts of  Bridget Sloan, one of six members of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team. She is Sloan’s granddaughter and Lawson’s great niece, and a relative of many others in the area.

ORION—The village will seek bids for a curbside recycling program, village trustees decided on a 3-2 vote Monday, Aug. 4. Going after bids does not commit the village to curbside recycling, Village President Jim Cooper said.
