Orion Cub Scout Pack 123 created a giant Pinewood Derby car for the lighted parade at the Orion Fireworks Festival on Saturday, July 3. The boys won first place.

St. Paul Lutheran Church’s float celebrated two enduring symbols of freedom, the cross of Jesus and the flag of the United States. The church received second place.

Svea Mutual Insurance Co.’s third-place float had everything needed for summer fun, from a wading pool to palm trees. Other photos from the festival are throughout this issue of the Orion Gazette.
