THREE EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
1 The Orion Fire Department delivers Santa to the Orion High School commons on a fire truck.
2 Children sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they are hoping to find under the tree on Christmas morning. Meanwhile, the Main Street Orion photographer is capturing the moment, and an assistant is printing out the photo for the parents.
3 Boys and girls ages 2 to 9 can register to win a gift from Santa. Santa’s elves have furnished the gifts already, and many of them are in Mid-Town Building window on Fourth Street.
4 Hey, it’s the Christmas season. We’re in the mood to give, so we’re adding a fourth reason. Christmas cookies and punch will be provided, and Christmas carols will help everyone get in the Christmas spirit.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Why would you stay home? Even if you have no children or grandchildren, it’s worth showing up to watch the little ones interact with the jolly old elf.
ABOUT THE EVENT
When: 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 3.
Where: Commons, Orion High School.
What you need to know before you go: You may want to chat with the youngest children, who often are not sure if they really want to sit on the big man’s lap, or how they feel about it once they’re seated.
Once you arrive, look for the table where Main Street volunteers are registering children for the toy drawing. Santa’s helpers have selected a wide variety of toys for boys and girls from 2 years old to 9 years old.
Contact: Main Street Orion, (309) 526-8299.
