Giving back to the county and its communities is an important effort of the Henry County Farm Bureau Young Leaders.  The Young Leaders are asking residents to help them and participate by donating to the “Sharing the Harvest” Food Drive during  March.

Young Leaders are asking for donations of non-perishable food items, which will be distributed throughout Henry County to local food pantries.  Food donations will be accepted at the Farm Bureau office, 114 North East Street, Cambridge or at any COUNTRY Financial office in Henry County.  COUNTRY Financial offices are located in Annawan, Cambridge, Colona, Galva, Geneseo, Kewanee, Orion and Woodhull.

Food donations will be accepted through March 26.  Young Leaders will then deliver all collected donations to food pantries throughout Henry County.

According to the USDA, nearly one in every 10 households in Illinois faces hunger this year. That’s why Farm Bureau Young Leaders have teamed up with “Feeding America” the nation’s largest food bank. Throughout the year, Young Leaders donate food, funds and people power to create a hunger-free Illinois.
