Capt. Brandon Thomsen received the Fireman of the Year Award at the Orion Community Fire Protection District's Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 10th, in Orion. Fire Chief Dan Myers,Sr. and Assistant Fire Chief Doug Smutzer presented the award to Thomsen, who has been with the department for 11 years. As the training officer, he has expanded training both in house and with outside agencies.  Trustees Jerry Sheldon and Scott Hoffman presented a plaque to Larry Anderson for his dedication to the department. Anderson has been with the department for 41 years. Attending the dinner were fire and ambulance personnel, including Jim Belton, Justin Catour, Larry Anderson, Ryan Roberts, Dustin Hutcherson, Mike Gehring, Pat Stoudt, Myers, Sr., Thomsen, Smutzer, Marty Belshause, Brad Peterson, Chad DeLoose, Mike Pinero, Neil Dahl, Ryan Nelson, Justin Ferry, Brian Stoudt, Travis Ward, Gary Karns, Lucas Pobanz, Pete Vandersnick, Scott Peterson, Dan Myers, Jr., Donna Dahl, Jay Dahl, Rod Ward and Kayla Dahl.
