Phyllis J. Johnson, age 61, of Andover died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at her residence after an eight-year courageous battle with breast cancer.
Memorial services were held Thursday, Oct. 27, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover. Visitation was held Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church. Burial of remains was at Andover Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Augustana Lutheran Church Altar Guild, or The Humane Society of Henry County.

Phyllis was born Aug. 27, 1950, in Moline, the daughter of Kenneth and Betty Bjork Josephson. She married Thomas W. Johnson on April 3, 1971, at Augustana Lutheran Church.
Phyllis was a 1968 graduate of Orion High School. She also graduated from the Galesburg School of Practical Nursing in 1969, and became an LPN. Phyllis was employed at Moline Public Hospital and at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
She was a Suzanna Group member and past president. Phyllis was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, and a member of the altar guild. She was also an active member of The Quad Cities Breast Cancer Support Group and The Kramer Society.
Phyllis loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her cat, Blackie. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Johnson; children, Kelly (Scott) Peterson and Kevin Johnson; grandchildren, Kody and Bryan Peterson, and Kyah and Kile Johnson; mother, Betty Josephson; and sisters, Beverly Josephson and Susan Josephson.
She was preceded in death by her father.
