Robert “Rob” W. Anderson, 40, of Orion passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Dec. 13, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island.
A Mass of Christian burial, liturgy service and visitation were conducted at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion. Burial was at Western Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established for Rob’s children.
Rob was born on March 15, 1971, in Moline, the son of Larry and Kathy Cook Anderson. He married Amanda “Mandy” Fair on Aug. 13, 1994, at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion.
Rob graduated Orion High School in 1989 and Blackhawk College in 1991. He began his career at the Orion IGA as a co-op student, and later worked at Alexis Fire Equipment.
Rob was a member of Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, the Orion Sportsman’s Club and was a volunteer fire fighter with the Orion Fire Department for over 20 years.
He loved spending time with his children and family. He spent many hours coaching whichever sport they were involved in at that time. He also enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting and trapping.
He is survived by his wife, Mandy; children, Madeline, Noah and Abram, at home; parents Larry and Kathy Anderson of Orion; a brother, David Anderson of Orion; grandmother Audrey Cook of Orion; mother and father-in-law Dennis and Jeanne Fair of Andover; and numerous other family and friends.
Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Rosalie Anderson and his best fishing buddy Grandpa Bill Cook.
