Ruth Rossi Clayman, formerly of Henderson, Nev., and Orion, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. She was a breast cancer survivor of 20 years.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services for family and friends will be at a later date at Western Township Cemetery, Orion.
Memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center, 4343 Kennedy Drive, East Moline IL 61244.
Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family

Ruth was born in Aledo, on Nov. 3, 1917, to William and Ida Murphy Humphrey. She was the youngest daughter of their nine children. “Ruthie,” as her family and friends knew her, married Pat Rossi on February 14, 1936 in Moline. He preceded her in death in 1961. On October 30, 1972, she married Bill Clayman in East Moline. He also preceded her in death in 1994.
Ruth is survived by her children and their spouses, David and Donna Rossi of Orion, Diane and Lamont Peterson of Henderson, Nev., and Dick and Nancy Rossi of Orion; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry Humphrey of Cambridge.
Her parents, two sisters and five brothers all preceded her in death.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Wang and his staff and to the nurses of Trinity Hospice for all they did for her, as well as offering a special thank you to all the angels at Hope Creek Care Center who cared for her during her stay. What a wonderful loving staff.
