Myron L. McCunn, 78, of Orion died May 10, 201 at Trinity Moline.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14,  at Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Kirk, Huggins, & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. Burial was at Western Township Cemetery with military honors conducted by Orion American Legion Post 255.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orion United Methodist Church.

Myron was born on Oct. 10, 1931, in Page County, Iowa, to John Herschel and Greta Abbott McCunn. He married Diane Turner on Aug. 13, 1960, in Elliott, Iowa.

Myron was an Army veteran. 

He was employed as a Design Engineer for John Deere & Company for 34 years, retiring March 1, 1993.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of Bank­Orion, and he was active with the Orion Athletic Booster Club and Orion Educational Foundation.

He was an active member of Orion United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; sons, Gregory (Carrie) McCunn of Orion and Matthew (Kelly) McCunn of Waterloo, Wis., and Bradley (Denise) McCunn of Eureka; 11 grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
