Dr. Max McCaw began practicing medicine in 1977 and moved to his present location on 11th Avenue, Orion, in 2006.
He, his wife, Carrie, and their staff are here to meet the medical needs of local families. The McCaws are a local family themselves.
McCaw Medical Clinic staff members “are an affable group who really enjoy Orion and the surrounding area and have become a vital part of the community,” said Main Street Orion’s executive director, Deb Ford.
The McCaws and their staff are becoming an integral part of Orion, Ford said.
“Their dream has long been to become a valued service provider in a small-town environment,” she said.
The McCaw clinic includes family practice and emergency care.
Dr .McCaw said that the prospect of a new pharmacy coming to Orion is important and a very good thing for the town.
He noted Main Street Orion helped bring his practice to life in Orion. The group provided a low-interest loan, as well as a facade improvement grant to help pay for an outdoor sign.
Early on, McCaw Medical Clinic’s financial survival was somewhat in question, Ford said. The community rallied around them, and the McCaws expect the clinic to be a permanent part of the community.
