Plans already are underway for the 38th Orion Fall Festival, which will be held Labor Day weekend.
A food tent, pork chop dinner, carnival, parade, arts and crafts, kids events, an ice cream social and pie auction will bring crowds to Central Park from 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, through 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5.
Festival goers can look forward to the pie auction, which raised nearly $15,000 in 2009.
Live entertainment will be offered throughout the weekend.
The festival parade on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4, will include new entries.
A non-denominational church service will be held Sunday morning. Church goers can attend the Orion Lions Club breakfast before or after the service.
Orion Fall Festival is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization. All benefits from the weekend are returned to the community.
During 2009, the festival contributed $36,840 to community organizations and individuals with medical needs.
Volunteers and community groups are needed to help put on the 2010 festival. They should contact the fall festival committee at (309) 526-8320.
