Ralph Craig Crippen, age 66, of Estero, Fla., formerly of Moline, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples, Fla.
The funeral was conducted on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Andover Village Park.
Ralph was born on March 5, 1945, in Moline, to Robert B. and Marjorie E. (Caouette) Crippen. He grew up in Andover, and graduated from Orion High School.
Ralph graduated from Augustana College with a degree in chemistry. He was a long time accountant and CPA.
In recent years he was semi-retired and enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and golfing year- round. He especially enjoyed the annual fishing trip with his brothers and nephews.
He is survived by his daughter, Monica (Daniel) Winthrop of Falls Church, Va.; mother, Marjorie Crippen of Andover; brothers, David (Patsy) Crippen of Andover, Kent (Bonnie) Crippen of Milan and Daniel Crippen of Burr Ridge; sister, Kathryn Crippen of Moline; grandchildren, Robert and Nathan Winthrop of Falls Church, Va.; special friend, Connie Haigh, and her daughter, Anne (Bill) Gibson, and children, Gregory and Andy Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his father on March 2, 2008.
