Three Orion wrestlers won regional championships to lead a pack of seven Chargers to the sectional tournament next weekend.

Thorian Twyner (125 lbs.), Zach Butler (130) and Steven Bainter (152) all won their weight classes, while Joe DeVolder (135) placed second.

Trevor Peterson (140), Dale Shake (145) and John Taylor (160) all finished third.

Kaleb Hougland came in fourth.

With a gold medal on the line, Twyner won a 16-3 major decision over Austin Skiles of Mercer County.

Butler pulled off a reversal in the final seconds of the third period to defeat Derrick Morford of Mercer County 2-1.

In the final 40 seconds of his championship bout, Bainter got a takedown of Steele McCulley of Rockridge to secure an 8-5 victory.

Peterson came from behind for a 9-5 decision over Michael Anthony of Sherrard.

Shake won by walkover in his third-place bout. His opponent was to be Andrew Freelove of Sherrard, but Shake already had defeated him 5-2 in quarterfinals.

Taylor pinned Chad Kirkhove of Sherrard at 3:34.

Tyson Schulte of Sherrard decisioned Hougland 5-4.

Sectionals will be Friday, Feb. 12, and Saturday, Feb. 13, in Byron.
