Richard “Dick” Stiles, 49, of Orion died Saturday, May 30, 2010, in Cambridge as a result of an automobile accident.
The Rite of Christian Burial was conducted Thursday, June 3, at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion. Visitation was held Wednesday at the church. Burial was in Western Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dick was born on April 28, 1961, in Moline, the son of George Richard and Gloria Ledbetter Stiles. He married Kimberly Ann Landuyt on May 10, 1986, in Rock Island.
An electrician with IBEW Local 145 for 30 years, he was working with Tri-City Electric. Dick and his wife Kim are owners of Stooges Saloon in Orion.
He was an avid fan of the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes. He enjoyed fishing, camping, football and softball. He also enjoyed watching the Food Network, cooking and grilling out.
Dick had a larger-than-life personality and never met a stranger. He was the best husband and dad anyone could ever want.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly; daughter, Dannielle Marie Stiles; son, Blayke Richard Stiles; brothers, Tony (Lisa) Stiles, Dale (Lorrie) Stiles and Steven Stiles; sisters, Peggy (Steve) Rhoades, Lisa (Dennis) Harlan, Barb Girten; and 18 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and great-grandmother.
