Timothy L. Kane, 41, of Cambridge died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long year’s battle with colon cancer.

Cremation has been accorded and a graveside inurnment service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Rosedale Cemetery, Cambridge. Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services.

Memorials may be made to the Tim Kane Memorial Fund for the educational needs of his twin sons.

He was born June 24, 1970, in Geneseo, the son of Charles and Jean (Cosner) Kane. He attended Cambridge schools, graduating in 1988, at which time he met his soul mate, Chris VanCleve. They were married July 12, 1997.

He loved to spend his time outdoors. He worked for Rick Turner for several years doing what he loved, farming. He then worked at DeDecker farms. In 2003, he decided to take on a new challenge and work for the railroad. He worked at IC&E Railroad in Davenport, Iowa, with a great group of people.

He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching T.J. play football and baseball, drive a car, and remodel his own house. He also enjoyed coaching his twins, Travis and Trevor, in baseball and basketball with his wife, Chris. He loved going every weekend to watch them play. In his spare time, he was always fixing a go-cart, or a bike, or whatever the boys brought his way.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband and father to his boys.

Survivors include his wife, Chris; sons, T.J., age 20, and twins, Travis and Trevor, age 11, all of Cambridge; mother, Jean Kane of Cambridge; father, Charles Kane of Clarence, Mo., sisters and spouses, Sandy and Bruce Hull of Cambridge, and Cheri King and Bill Gibson of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Dorothy Siebke, and friend, Michael Woehrle of Rock Island; father-in-law and spouse, Donald and Deb Siebke of Rock Island; father-in-law, Donald Pribble of Davenport, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Jenny Kruger of Cambridge, and Susie and Angie Siebke, both of Rock Island; brothers-in-law, Jay and Terry Pribble, both of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
