ARLINGTON, TEXAS—Jim Fioretti, 70, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Celebration of life was at 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 7, in the Hall of Fame Room at the Sheraton Hotel, 1500 Convention Center Drive, Arlington, Texas. In reflection of Jim’s giving spirit, he has donated his body to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Willed Body Program. LINCOLN, NEB.—Marcene Helen Straub, 85, former resident of Orion, died Thursday, July 15, 2010, in Lincoln, Neb., where she currently resided. Services were held at the United Methodist Church in Limon, Colo., on Wednesday, July 21, with burial in Flagler, Colo. A short memorial service was held Sunday, Aug. 8, at Orion United Methodist Church, after the regular 10:30 a.m. church service. BALTIMORE, Md.—Robert Lee Kruger, 72, of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Orion, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2010, after suffering a stroke on Saturday, May 1. In accordance with Mr. Kruger’s request, he was cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life is being planned in the near future in Illinois.
ORION—Virginia A. Anderson, 89, of Orion died Friday, April 30, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Swedona Lutheran Church. Burial is in Swedona Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Swedona Lutheran Church. Virginia was born April 6, 1921, in Kentucky, the daughter of Vandorn and Ora Floyd. She married Allen Simmon, and he preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Kenneth B. Anderson, and he preceded her in death in 1989.
