Donald L. Bloomquist, 83, of Moline, formerly of Orion, died Sept. 30, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, in East Moline.

Donald L. Bloomquist, 83, of Moline, formerly of Orion, died Sept. 30, 2017, at Hope Creek Care Center, in East Moline.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory Ltd., Moline. Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home. Burial was at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Memorials may be made to the family or favorite charity.

Donald was born on March 17, 1934, in Moline, the son of Fred Bloomquist and Edith Pritchard Bloomquist. He married Marilyn Jean Daniels on March 10, 1956, in Moline. Donald served in the Army.

He had been employed as a combine repairman at Case IH, retiring in 1991 after 37 years.

He enjoyed woodworking, going to the auction and Quad City Mallards hockey games, attending grandkids’ events, and family gatherings.

Survivors include his three favorite daughters, DeAnna (Terry) Smith of Moline, Debra Carlson of Orion and Dawn (Jeff) Johnson of Orion; grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, LeAnn (Trent) Ferguson, Travis and Trevor Carlson and Kylee and Karsyn Johnson; and a great-granddaughter. Karlee Ferguson.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, parents, his two brothers, Orville and Robert Bloomquist.
