Jim Fioretti, 70, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Celebration of life was at 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 7, in the Hall of Fame Room at the Sheraton Hotel, 1500 Convention Center Drive, Arlington, Texas.
In reflection of Jim’s giving spirit, he has donated his body to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Willed Body Program.
In lieu of flowers, Jim requested donations be made to A Wish With Wings or Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Jim loved cooking and feeding friends. Along with his friends, Jim fried many holiday turkeys for the benefit of ill children.
Jim was born June 23, 1940, to Hazel (Seagraves) and Joe Fioretti Jr. in Wilburton, Okla.
He worked for 16 years at General Motors and was owner of Jim Fioretti
Tile Service for over 30 years. He was a friend to all he met and loved helping others.
He married Sandy Pettifer, formerly of Orion, on July 21, 1990, and they
were blessed with 20 years of love and devotion.
Survivors include his wife Sandy; son, Brent Fioretti (Steffani); stepdaughters, Amy Rehn and Andrea (Jon) Allen; grandchildren, Jade and Eliza Allen and Brody Fioretti; sister, Janice (Darvin) Sutmiller Horton; brothers-in-law, Ron Pettifer, Chick (Becky) Pettifer, Dennis (Sue) Pettifer, and Rob (Dena) Pettifer; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy Duane; brother-in-law, Bill Sutmiller; nephew, Brian Brinkley; and in-laws, Vern and Merlyn Pettifer.
