JoAnn Scott, 80, of Orion died Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at her home.

Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Kirk, Huggins, & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Orion with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment was in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. 

Memorials may be made to her family for a fund to be established.

JoAnn was born Nov. 9, 1928, in Rock Island, the daughter of Charles H. and Irene (Briggs) Monroe. She married Robert E. Scott I on February 6, 1948, at Sherrard Lutheran Church.

She was employed as a school bus driver for Orion Community Unit School District #223 for 20 years, retiring on January 1, 2000. JoAnn really loved all the children who rode her bus over the years.

Survivors and (spouses) include her husband, Robert; children, Victoria Pearson of East Moline, Robert E. (Lynn) Scott II of Aledo and Darrin C. Scott of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandchildren, Todd, Jaclyn, Michael and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Corbin and Connor; brothers, James Monroe of Buffalo Grove and Charles H. Monroe II of Justin, Texas; sister, Ruth Arrasmith in Minnesota; and step-mother, Neecie Larsen of Ash Flat, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
