Floyd Alvin Whitehall, age 75, of Orion died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment was at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established later.

Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. assisted the family.

Floyd was born July 20, 1934, in Keithsburg, the son of Roy and Hazel (McNall) Whitehall. He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Fauble, on Sept. 12, 1954, at the Methodist Church in Keiths­burg.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1957-59.

Floyd was employed in quality control at American Air Filter and George Evans Corporation.  

He was a member of Orion United Methodist Church and Orion Sherman Lodge 535. 

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and traveling (visiting all 50 states).  Floyd especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Whitehall; a son, Dr. Bradley (Denise) Whitehall  Sr.; a daughter, Elizabeth (Michael) Keirstead; grandchildren, Jennifer, Bradley Jr. and Anne Whitehall and Amanda and Gavin Keirstead; brothers, George Whitehall of Monmouth, Kenneth Whitehall of Aledo, Curtis Whitehall of New Windsor, Tom Whitehall of East Moline; and a sister, Lois Strang of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four sisters.
