Hey! It’s me again! Busy meeting last night! First of all, a great big HUGE thanks to the village workers for taking care of the “down dead” tree that fell over the road. We really appreciated your help. Sure would have taken alot of “mouse muscle” to get that done.

Queens’ report—Kelly is still looking for two Junior Miss contestants for the pageant. We have 15 queen contestants entered so there is still room for more entries. Better get your entries in by May 9.

Hey, I love to get mail so if you have anything to share, please do. Got a letter the other day. Our mowing has started, and we are trying real hard to keep the grounds looking great, including being careful not to mow over important things. Thanks for your concern.

If you still need to reserve a space in the Merchant’s Building, please call Wayne and Judy Douglas at (309) 945-5293 or (309) 945-5294 after 6 p.m. They can answer ALL your questions.

Passes for Farm Bureau members are on sale at the Farm Bureau. They will also sell non-member Fun Passes at a discount price.

Discount ride tickets will go on sale the week before fair at the secretary’s office at the fairgrounds.

The fair is looking for a 55- horsepower or bigger tractor for use on the fairgrounds and to pull the bat-wing mower. Anyone with any information on one for sale, for loan or for donation can call Rick Dobbels at (309) 507-1974. We’re not looking for anything fancy!

Things are really coming together for the fair. This board is committed to bringing you a new, fun-filled fair suitable for all ages. They are always looking for helpers and ideas.

Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m. is another work day. If interested in helping call Rick Dobbels or any other board member. Lots to do! Boy, I hope the weather holds. They work out there all week, so call if you have some time to give help, give them a call.

Board members are more than nervous about getting their check from the state for over $22,000. Without that check, they are extremely challenged financially. The directors really appreciated the donations that have been made - no amount is too small - it all adds up.

Money is tight and we know it. We will have a great fair—the show must go on—and it will.
