Got a letter from Arizona and they want to send a donation, so here’s the scoop. Donations may be sent to the Henry County Fair Association, P.O. Box 105, Cambridge IL 61238. Our web-site is www.henrycountyfairillinois.com.

Getting some requests for Battle of the Bands. If interested call Susan Wells at (217) 502-2409. I’m gettin’ real good at those drums so watch out—I’ve already entered.

Great news! Kewanee radio stations WKEI and WJRE of the Regional Radio Group are gonna have a Hog Country Barn Dance Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in the old Art Hall at the fair. Live broacast!

The old Art Hall because their house is getting a facelift with painting, cleaning and a roof.

So much to do but what a great feeling. The board is still working to bring more and more activities for 2010. It’s just getting better by the minnute. Pushing 30 new activities now. My life is so full. I’m so proud to be self-appointed reporter for all this.

We’re looking for volunteers to drive golf carts to shuttle  people who need assistance to get to places during fair week. Let us know if you can help out.

Carnival posters have arrived and will be poppin’ up all over. It’s a great carnival with lots of bargains. Reduced-rate tickets will go on sale before the fair in the secretary’s office. Lots of available savings are out there, including gate tickets. Get yours early and save, save, save.

Remember there is also a Lifetime Pass/Share still available. Super good deal.

Flowers-flowers-flowers everywhere. This rain sure is making the fairgrounds real pretty, but the grass is growing faster than we can mow it. Sure is getting hard to navigate around here but thanks to Bob, who makes sure I have walkways to the neighbors.

Really need chaperones for the Teen Tent. It’s so easy. You just have to be there and join the fun. If you get a phone call, please say yes. All the teens in Henry County are getting excited about this, including all my nieces and nephews! I want to come but I’m too old unless I win Battle of the Bands. Then my safety might be assured. All those feet moving pretty fast gets kind of scary for us little guys.

    Life is so good.

See ya’ll next week. Think fair!
