Recently there was a rating system for nursing homes in our area. My mother was a resident at Hillcrest Home for three-and-a-half years. She passed away Dec. 19 at the age of 101.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this facility. It is always immaculately clean, but I guess, more importantly, they have a staff that is No. 1 in the care of all their residents.

I have gone unannounced to see my mother many times in the past three-and-a-half years and never found my mother neglected. The entire staff, from administrator on down, is top notch.

They always put the resident’s safety and comfort first. Zero tolerance is in place for verbal or physical abuse. It is always a very difficult decision to place your loved one in a long-term care facility, but you can rest assured that Hillcrest is top notch in every respect.

They deserve, at the very least, five stars for the care of their residents, and I appreciate their loving care of my mother.
