On Feb. 2, registered voters in Illinois will have the opportunity to vote in the primary election to select the candidates who most closely represent their values.
For the congressional race in the 14th district, Republican voters have a choice between two candidates to challenge the incumbent Democrat Bill Foster. It is a choice between a candidate with profound business and legislative experience and another without.
Randy Hultgren is a conservative Republican from Winfield who grew up in his family business, is established in his own business career and has served in elective office since 1994, when he began serving on the Dupage County Board.
He has served four terms in the Illinois House of Representatives and currently is serving his second term in the Illinois State Senate.
Voters who know him have returned him to positions of responsibility over the course of the past 15 years.
Randy Hultgren is endorsed by conservative organizations including: Illinois Federation for Right to Life Pac, Illinois Citizens for Life Pac, Tax Accountability/National Taxpayers United of Illinois, Family Pac, the American Conservative Union, Concerned Women for America, Illinois Center Right Coalition, the Eagle Forum and the Illinois State Rifle Association.
His local newspaper, the Kane County Chronicle, has endorsed his candidacy, as have other more well known papers. He has endorsements from the Daily Herald, the Chicago Sun-Times, which declared, in part, that “... Hultgren is a firm conservative,” and the Chicago Tribune, which declared that Randy “... has an excellent record as a pro-jobs, pro-business legislator.
While the incumbent, Bill Foster, has not visited the western part of the 14th district in a year and a half, Randy Hultgren announced his candidacy to a group of influential Republicans right here in Henry County.
Randy Hultgren is the conservative candidate in this congressional race, and for those voters who regard themselves as conservative, Randy Hultgren is the obvious choice.
