When we go to the polls on Feb. 2, we have some very important decisions to consider. One of which is the referendum for a 0.25 percent increase on sales tax, better known to us as “The Henry County Courthouse Renovation Referendum.”
This magnificent courthouse building has been keeping watch over Cambridge for 129 years. A National Historical land mark right in our own back yard. It’ an important part of what Cambridge, known as “The Henry County Seat.”
Because of this, a lot or people come to Cambridge every week. These extra people help support and sustain many businesses in Cambridge. The courthouse employs many of our residents as well as generating sales tax revenue for the Village of Cambridge through the purchases made by its many visitors.
My point is that the Henry County Courthouse is very important to Cambridge, and it needs our help! This referendum is the best way to pay for the needed repair work without having to raise property taxes.
Let’s all do our part in helping to get this magnificent building repaired. Please join me in supporting this 0.25 percent sales tax referendum. Vote yes on Feb. 2.
