Pontiac JV and frosh-soph diamond action from Tuesday

    Pontiac’s junior varsity teams posted a 2-1 mark on Tuesday on the softball and baseball diamonds.
Pontiac-BCC
    In softball, the Indians battered Central Catholic pitching for 10 runs in a 10-0 four-inning win. Pontiac scored four runs in the second inning, added two in the third and plated four in the fourth as the game ended.
    Sydney Barnett was in charge by tossing a one-hitter. She struck out eight and walked one.
    Rebecca Rich had a double and single while Maddi Stark singled twice and drove in a run. Grace Myers had a double and two RBIs and Audrey Sutton collected a hit and two RBIs. Sydney Shepherd tripled and Peyton Trost singled.
Pontiac-EPG
    EL PASO — Pontiac grabbed the lead in the top of the first inning and rolled with it, finishing with an eight-run seventh for an 18-1 junior varsity win over El Paso-Gridley at South Pointe Park.
    The Titans scored in the bottom of the first but Pontiac added two runs in the third and plated five runs in the fifth.
    Austin Waldschmidt collected a triple, double, single and two runs batted in for the Indians. Eric Watson tripled and singled twice while driving in two runs. Payton Amm and Luke Fox each had two hits and two RBIs. Gavin Bauknecht had two hits while Clay Pfeifer had a double and two RBIs. Trey Edinger had a hit and three RBIs and Evan Trevino contributed a hit and RBI.
    Watson got the win with nine strikeouts. Trevino went the final 1 2-3 innings and struck out three.
Pontiac-Fieldcrest
    WENONA — Pontiac looked to have an easy go of it against host Fieldcrest, but the Knights had other ideas as they rallied for a 9-5 victory in frosh-soph baseball.
    The Indians scored five runs in the top of the first inning, but got nothing more the rest of the way. Fieldcrest, on the other hand, scored a run in the second and added three in the fifth inning to trail 5-4.
    The Knights then chalked up five runs in the sixth for the win.
    Trevor Sexton had a double, single and two runs batted in, Clayton Haase had two doubles and a single while George Smith singled three times for Pontiac. Tyler Pulliam had two hits and Carson kelly singled and drove in two runs. Aaron Adcock had a hit and RBI and Andy Potts and Brendan Bohm each singled.
    Pulliam took the loss after giving up five runs in relief. He struck out two. Adcock started and fanned two in his 4 2-3 innings. Caleb Peet got PTHS out of the sixth with a strikeout.
