Warriors come back for Tri-County BB win
A three-run sixth inning lifted Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell past Henry-Senachwine 4-2 in a Tri-County Conference baseball game Tuesday.
The Warriors were down 2-1 when they rattled some bats and took the lead. A one-out walk got the ball rolling as J Albertson started the comeback.
Cody Dodge followed with a base hit and Brad Simpson reached on an error that allowed Trevor Derossett, the courtesy runner for Albertson, to score the tying run. Tyler Jenkins was hit by a pitch one out later and Collin Hjerpe’s fly ball was misplayed as Dodge and Simpson scored for the two-run lead.
Henry had very mild threats in the sixth and seventh innings but WFC got out of trouble unscathed.
Dodge and Kyle Voytko had the only hits for the Warriors.
Hjerpe went the distance, striking out eight, walking three and only allowing two hits.
