\Three Orion area girls finished in the top 10 of their divisions at the national meet of the United States Tumbling & Trampoline Association.
Springfield hosted the meet from Tuesday, June 15, through Saturday, June 19, at the Prairie Capital Convention Center.
Richelle Zurcher, Andover, finished third among 15-year-olds in the sub-novice level of tumbling. Her score was 37.80 points, or .80 out of first place.
Kiah Kostka of Orion, a state champion, came in fourth in the 13- and 14-year-old sub-advanced division. Her score was 39.00, and she was only six-tenths of a point out of first.
Tumbler Hailee Miller, Osco, competed with 10-year-old beginnners. She recorded a score of 34.80 points.
Mikayla Carlson, Osco, tied with two other tumblers for 14th place in the 10-year-old sub-novice group. Judges awarded her 36.80 points.
Competing with 8-year-olds in the sub-novice division, Jenna Zurcher, Andover, came in 16th overall. Her score was 36.60 points.
State champion Gracie Noble, Andover, tumbled in the 10-year-old beginner group. She was 16th with 32.10 points.
Malerie West, who tumbled in the 13-14 intermediate group, finished with 35.80 points. She was only 2.0 points out of first.
Cassie Schultz, Andover, was in the 9-year-old sub-novice division of tumblers. She was 23rd with 35.50 points.
Emiliah Morrison, Orion, was a national qualifier in double-mini trampoline but due to a coach's error was not registered for nationals.
To get to nationals, all the girls finished in the top 10 of their divisions at the state meet last April in Rock Island.
