The wrestler who defeated Orion's Steven Bainter in the first round yesterday has just lost his semifinal bout at the state tournament in Assembly Hall in Champaign.

Only wrestlers who lose to finals are put into wrestlebacks.

Austin Holland of Dwight pinned Bainter at 1:51 in the first round of the 152-lb. bracket on Friday, Feb. 19. Holland then decisioned his quarterfinal opponent, giving Bainter some hope overnight that he would be in wrestlebacks on Saturday morning.

Holland led his semifinal bout with Brian Bahrs of Sterling Newman until giving up two points on a near fall with six seconds to go in the third period. That gave Bahrs a 4-3 decision.
