Two Orion boys track athletes have received postseason recognition from the Dispatch and Rock Island Argus. Matt Knoll made the All-Area team, while Kennen Hutchison received honorable mention.
Knoll placed seventh in the long jump at the state track meet in Charleston. He also competed in the triple jump in the preliminaries at the state meet on May 21, 2009.
The senior claimed an Olympic Conference championship in the long jump, and a sectional championship in the triple jump.
He received the Most Valuable plaque at the team awards banquet.
Hutchison ran in the 400-meter dash at state. He won a sectional championship in the event in Sherrard.
