Several girls from the Orion area have qualified for the national meet of the United States Tumbling & Trampoline Association next month in Springfield.
They placed in the top 10 in their divisions at the USTA Northern Illinois state meet held on Saturday, April 24, and Sunday, April 25, in the fieldhouse at Rock Island High School.
Trampoline routines were featured on Saturday and tumbling passes on Sunday.
State champions include Kiah Kostka of Orion and Gracie Noble of Andover.
Kostka is a member of the U.S. National Tumbling and Trampoline team.
Richelle Zurcher of Andover placed second; Hailee Miller of Osco, fourth; Mikayla Carlson of Osco, fourth; Cassidy Schultz of Andover, ninth; and Jenna Zurcher of Andover, ninth.
They will compete at the national meet from Tuesday, June 15, through Saturday, June 19.
Emiliah Morrison of Orion placed 10th in the double-mini event in trampoline. She qualified for nationals in Bloomington.
Girls participating in the state meet included Avery Noble of Andover, 17th place, and Malerie West.
