Eunice Marie Brennan, 87, of Geneseo, died peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019, at Betty’s Garden Memory Care, in Kewanee. Cremation rites have been accorded. per her wishes, there will not be a visitation or funeral service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Eunice was born on Sept. 23, 1931, in Moline, the daughter of John and Ada Mae (Nimrick) Brennan. She graduated from Cambridge High School in the Class of 1949. She married Everett Schnowske Sr., on Aug. 12, 1952. They owned and operated Schnowske-By-Products for many years. They later divorced.
Eunice was a proud and loving homemaker. Her most fulfilling and enjoyable time was at the lake house in Oak Run, with family and friends. She prided herself on cooking and caring for all. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing, gardening, and most of all, reading novels.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Everett (Dawn) Schnowske Jr.; daughters, Teresa (Larry) Martens and Lorinda (Ken) De Reu, all of Atkinson; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Millie Jean Palmer and brother, Keith Robert Brennan, both of Cambridge; and friend Everett Schnowske Sr., of Altona. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ada Mae Brennan; sister, Bonnie Mae Leander; and brother, Johnny Earl Brennan.
