James R. Johnson, 77, an Orion graduate passed away 24 June 2020 at the Pudget Sound Veterans Hospital in Seattle after a lengthy illness.


Jim was the son of Robert H. and Florence N. Johnson of Orion He was born 10 July 1942. He served in the Navy and the Merchant Marines during the Viet Nam era. When his tour of duty in the military ended he joined the police force in Seattle., After he left the police force he became self employed.


One of the greatest thrills in his life was in 1974 being an extra in the movie, McQ, filmed in Seattle staring John Wayne.


Jim stayed in the Seattle area after his military tour but never failed to come home every 5 years for his class reunion. He loved his classmates and they loved him.


Left to cherish his memory are his sister Sue (Dave), and her family. His sons is friend Lisa) Johnson, Robert (Kim) Johnson, Special friends Kathy Greer and Randy Purcell, his beloved cat INK and all his class of 1960 classmates. He will be missed greatly.


As per Jim's wishes there will be no services. To honor his military service memorials may be made to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
